Terms & Conditions
Please take the time to read these terms and conditions as your lessons are conducted with the understanding that you agree to these as laid down here.
1) The pupil (or bill payer) should be aware that any payments made are to the instructor, not the company and therefore any financial arrangement is with the individual instructor concerned.
2) It is the responsibility of the pupil to ensure that they hold a valid licence for the vehicle. Pupils may be asked to submit details for the instructor to clarify this (at their discretion) using the tool at the GOV.uk website (www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence ). Pupils MUST inform their instructor immediately if any cause arises that affects your licence to drive, including any endorsements, medical issues or penalties that are active or pending before or during the period of their tuition.
3) Your instructor will ensure that the vehicle is in a fit and legal condition for use for your lesson, they will also ensure to display their unique identification badge for the duration of your training.
4) We will do our best to accommodate any special requirements, please let us know about any additional needs. Any medical conditions, learning difficulties or anything that may affect your lessons when booking. This will allow us to ensure that we can give you the best advice and structure your learning in the best way for you as an individual from the outset of your tuition.
5) A minimum of 48 hours notice is required from the pupil to the instructor to change or cancel a lesson. Failure in this may result in you being liable for all or part of the lesson fees. This is at the discretion of your instructor, however genuine reasons will be given consideration. We advise you to alert your instructor if there are any special considerations required in this matter and they will do their best to accommodate where possible.
6) Further to rule 5: Any habitual abuse of the above rule may be dealt with by further sanctions such as paying in advance for any booked lessons or even refusal to continue tuition.
7) If your instructor needs to cancel or rearrange your lesson they will give you as much notice as possible. Exceptions to this may be mechanical breakdown or difficulties outside of the control of your instructor, in this event the instructor reserves the right to cancel lessons at short notice.
8) Lessons are generally charged by the hour
Our current rates are:
1-hour lesson Manual £37 Automatic £40
10-hour Block (payable in Advance) Manual £350
Any payments made by card will incur a transaction charge of £1 per lesson.
Please check when booking lessons if your chosen instructor takes card payment if this is needed as a method of payment. Bank transfers & cash are alternative methods of payment.
9) Block discounts are for a package of lessons, any refunds are at the discretion of your instructor. Any refund will be based on the standard hourly charge for any hours used. Block discounts will remain claimable for a fixed period of 12 months from the date of payment. If you wish to claim after this time period it is at the discretion of the instructor and you may be asked to make an additional payment to bring in line with any adjustments to the lesson or block prices.

11) Prices are correct as at the time of your first lesson. Driving-lessons4u reserve the right to change hourly and block prices with reasonable prior notice. (Not less than 14 days)
12) Payments for each lesson are to be made prior to the lesson.
13) The price paid for the theory and practical test are not included in any course fees, unless otherwise stated. Nor does it include the use of the instructor’s vehicle for the test or any prior instruction. Therefore current rates will apply.
14a) Pick up and drop off points are subject at your instructors discretion.
14b) Lesson duration is at the discretion of your instructor. Our advice is that 2 hour lessons are most beneficial for both pupils and instructors. If this is not the most beneficial for you, your instructor will do the utmost to accommodate your needs where possible. If for any reason lesson duration is altered it is your responsibility to ensure that this is noted on your appointment card.
15) Our Instructor’s primary objective is to promote road safety and in doing so they may need to take control of the vehicle. If this occurs then your instructor should alert you as to why this has happened. The instructor will make every effort to instruct the pupil to the highest standards but can in no way be held liable for any decisions or errors that the pupil may make when driving and not accompanied by the instructor either before or after passing the test.
16) The instructor will accept no liability for accidents, injury or damage caused to any third party caused by the pupil’s recklessness or negligence during a lesson.
17) The instructor will endeavour to teach the pupil the skills required to become a good driver, as laid out by DVSA guidelines, within the minimum required lessons for the individual pupil.
18) Driving tests should only be booked at the agreement of your instructor and yourself. Your instructor will advise you honestly and may ask you to adjust your test if they deem it to be the best course of action.
19) The instructor reserves the right to refuse the use of their vehicle for the driving test.
20) The instructor reserves the right at their discretion to refuse to proceed with the lesson if they have any reason to believe that the pupil is unfit for the lesson. This includes, but is not limited to, being under the influence of drink or drugs. In this it is at the discretion of the instructor to charge for all or part of the lesson.
21) The instructor reserves the right to terminate a lesson where they feel that there is inappropriate or aggressive behaviour from the pupil. We do not accept any verbal or physical abuse to our instructors and you may be reported to the relevant authorities where this occurs.
